Workshops support the City’s Urban Agriculture Strategy by teaching residents gardening skills so that they can access healthy foods by growing them close to home.
What
An in-person, informative workshop for residents with limited or no gardening experience. Learn about indoor growing techniques, such as sprouting, as well as seed selection and garden planning to support your outdoor gardening next spring.
This workshop will include a hands-on indoor growing and sprouting activity.
When
The Winter Season Indoor Growing workshop will run at four different locations and dates throughout November and December.
Where
- Monday, November 17 at the Malton Community Centre from 5:30-7 p.m. (register online).
- Monday, November 24 at the Burnhamthorpe Library from 5:30-7 p.m. (register online).
- Monday, December 1 at the Meadowvale Community Centre from 5:30-7 p.m. (register online).
- Monday, December 8 at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre from 5:30-7 p.m. (register online).
Cost
Free – online registration is encouraged. Walk-ins are also welcome. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
