UPDATE Peel Regional Police – Public Safety Alert /Sexual Assault Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 6:45 a.m., a 21-year-old woman was at a bus stop at Airport Road and Humberwest Parkway in the City of Brampton when an unknown suspect offered her a ride.  The suspect proceeded to drive the victim to the area of Countryside Drive and Airport Road in the City of Brampton, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a male, South Asian, approximately 20 – 30 years of age, with short black hair and a black short beard, and a medium to muscular build.

The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model 4-door sedan.

Investigators are seeking anyone with dashcam footage between 6:40 a.m., and 8:30 a.m. from the above mentioned area to come forward.  Video footage can be submitted via the link:

The same suspect is believed to have committed a sexual assault against an 18-year-old woman in Brampton on Friday, November 8, 2024, and is also believed to be responsible for an incident in the York Region (Vaughan).

Police are urging members of the public not to accept any unsolicited offers of transportation from anyone unknown to them.

This morning, Peel Regional Police announced the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Brampton, Arshdeep Singh, in connection with multiple sexual assault investigations involving three female victims.

The accused has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Kidnapping (X3)
  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Assault with a Weapon
  • Sexual Assault by Strangulation
  • Robbery
  • Utter Threats (X2)

All three incidents involved adult female victims waiting at bus stops in Brampton. In each case, a black four-door sedan approached the victim, claiming to be a rideshare service and speaking Punjabi. The victims were then transported to a different location and sexually assaulted.
