  • Region of Peel Waste Collection Update

    April 9, 2020

This morning at Regional Council I seconded a motion on waste collection. In order to deter dumping, residents will now have the opportunity to leave out up to 2 extra bags of garbage on their regular garbage week with no tags required. This does not mean you can use tags as well on extra bags. It is removal of the use of tags. You still have a maximum of 2 bags being put out.

This starts on the week of April 20. In addition we will be accepting waste drop off at the Community Recycling Centres with no fee. This will reduce any interaction with staff. Procedures to maintain distance will be in place. This is not a complete unlimited collection as was previously discussed and recommended against by staff. It is restricted to a maximum of 2 bags and no bulky items
