Mississauga Celebrates International Women’s Day

On Monday, March 8, the City of Mississauga Civic Centre clock tower will be lit purple and white in honour of International Women’s Day (IWD), to celebrate the many women who have contributed to making Mississauga a vibrant city.

To commemorate IWD, the following virtual events will be offered for the community to take part in:

· Virtual Fire-Side Chat: on March 8, Mayor Bonnie Crombie will be hosting this event featuring a one-on-one chat with former Mayor Hazel McCallion, who will speak about her political career and provide advice for young women about making their mark in the world. Register here

· Women’s Entrepreneur Conference: on March 9, the Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre will be hosting a virtual event focused on the theme Re-Inventing in Times of Change. Register here

· Women of Mississauga: on March 25, join Museums of Mississauga in a free virtual discussion about some of the diverse women who have shaped Mississauga for the betterment of our many different communities. Register here
