420 Lakeshore Road East (corner of Lakeshore Road and Enola Avenue)

Plazacorp have submitted plans to redevelop the existing Beer Store at 420 Lakeshore Road East (corner of Lakeshore Road and Enola) with a condominium apartment building ranging in height from 2 to 12 storeys and containing 195 residential units with at grade non-residential uses and two levels of underground parking.

The applicant is proposing to amend the official plan designation from Mixed Use to Residential High Density and to rezone the property from C4 (Mainstreet Commercial) to RA5 – Exception (Apartment – Exception) to implement this development proposal.  Driveway access to the proposal will be provided from Enola Avenue.

Due to the COVID pandemic, we are not able to have an in-person meeting. The Region of Peel Public Works department regularly maintains and repairs the water system to make sure you have a reliable supply of quality drinking water. Sometimes we must turn off your water supply while we do the work. In the next few days, we will be working in your area and will have to turn off your water for a few hours.

Your water will be turned off on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from approximately 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. However, if the weather is bad or if a problem arises, we will reschedule the work and will let you know the new date and time.

When we turn the water back on, air in the pipes may make the water cloudy and your plumbing may vibrate or make noise. If this happens, you can remove the air by briefly turning on your taps from the lowest to the highest faucet in the building (that is, starting in the basement/first floor and finishing on the top floor). Flush the toilets as well.

You should only have to run the water for 10 to 30 seconds, but keep running it until the water is clear and any vibration or noise has stopped.

If your water meter starts to leak, call Water Meter Installations Dispatch at:

There may be some water pressure losses and brief water interruptions (15 minutes) on Saturday October 24, 2020 between 3:00 am to 6:30 am while we work in your area.

If this interruption may affect an alarm or maintenance company, it is your responsibility to notify them.

MiWay Service Changes to Improve Connections Across the Transit Network

On October 26, MiWay will be changing schedules on various routes and adding more frequent evening service on weekdays on Route 42 Derry to improve connections across the transit network.

Schedule changes will occur on following routes:

  • 4 Sherway Gardens
  • 9 Rathburn-Thomas
  • 26 Burnhamthorpe
  • 42 Derry
  • 68 Terry Fox
  • 73 Kamato
  • 74 Explorer
  • 76 City Centre-Subway
  • 90 Terragar-Copenhagen Loop
  • 91 Hillcrest-Cooksville GO
  • 101 Dundas Express

Updated schedules are available at miway.ca.

Wearing a face covering is required under the City’s by-law in all indoor public spaces, including when riding on MiWay and when inside transit terminal buildings. Children under the age of two and people with disabilities or other medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a face covering are not required to wear one.

Customers are encouraged to use PRESTO as a contactless way to pay. With PRESTO, your transfer is active for two hours from when you first tap your card on the bus (and you don’t need a paper transfer).

Filming Notice in Ward 1 Notice: 1462 Mississauga Road

Please note that the above will be filming exterior scenes for a TV series “Sex/Life” at 1462 Mississauga Road (Ward 2) on October 21 – 24, times vary per day.

A permit has been issued to allow parking on the following from October 20, 10:00pm – October 24, 8:00am:

  • One side of Shenandoah Dr between Wateska Blvd and Mississauga Rd

Affected residents have been informed of these activities via notification letter. A release form survey was sent to residents with less than 20% objecting  in order to allow:

  • Overnight parking
  • Afterhours filming
  • Filming on a residential block more than twice in a calendar year

Production has also been granted permission to park crew vehicles at Port Credit Arena (53 Lake St, Ward 1) from October 20, 7:00am – October 24, 7:00am.

Please note that the above will be filming interior and exterior scenes for the TV series “Sex/Life” at 49 Pinewood Tr  on October 21,  7:00am – 11:00pm

Camera equipment on the roadway and boulevard on Pinewood Tr has been permitted as long as two-way traffic is maintained at all times and to allow maximum 3-minute traffic stoppages under the supervision of Peel Regional Police not between the hours of 7:00 – 9:00am and 4:00 – 6:00pm.

All parking will be on private property.
