The Credit Valley Conservation (CVCV) has issued a Flood Outlook. The forecast is predicting a strong low pressure system moving into the province, bringing precipitation starting Thursday. Rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are expected, with an additional 10 to 25 mm from thunderstorms that may develop in this system.
The Lakeshore Road pedestrian underpass and Marina Park public boat launch, will be closed until further notice.
While flooding of the Credit River is not expected, intense rainfall associated with thunderstorms may result in flooding. As a result, local streams and rivers could become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges and dams. Residents are asked to stay safe around all waterways at this time as they can be dangerous, especially for children and pets.
