Niagara Weekend Train Service Suspended

By December 18, 2020December 30th, 2020Events, Issues

As of Saturday, January 9th, all GO train trips serving Niagara Falls will be suspended for the winter season to match customer demand and use our resources efficiently. We expect to resume the weekend service again in spring 2021.

Customers can use the existing Route 12 buses, which run hourly in both directions and connect with Lakeshore West trains at Burlington GO Station. The elevators at Burlington GO are out of service until early 2021 while we carry out important upgrades. Find more information here.

This holiday season, trains to and from Niagara will run on December 25 through 28, and January 1 through 3. WEGO bus connections in Niagara will be available while trains are running, however, there will be no WEGO service on December 25 or January 1.

GO easier with trip planning tools:

  • Use the Triplinx app to plan your trip from start to finish.
  • Get real-time updates sent directly to your mobile device with On the GO alerts and by following the Lakeshore West line and GO Bus on Twitter.
  • With our Where’s My Bus service, customers can text or call to find out when their GO bus will arrive at their stop, Park & Ride or GO station in real-time. Find out more at www.gotransit.com/wmb.

At GO Transit, safety never stops; your health and safety are our top priority. Face coverings are essential to keeping everyone safe and are mandatory on GO Transit. Be sure to properly wear it so that it covers your nose, mouth and chin while in stations, on platforms and for your entire train or bus ride.

Wash your hands often. When you can’t, hand sanitizer is readily available along your journey. Buy before you board. Consider contactless payment options like PRESTO or e-tickets to pay your fare or purchase your ticket at one of our vending machines. Use the PRESTO App to instantly load your PRESTO card . Cash is currently not accepted on our buses or at ticket counters.
