The Ministry of Transportation, in partnership with Infrastructure Ontario, achieved the Financial Close stage with the private consortium (“EDCO”) selected to design and construct the QEW Credit River Improvement Project on December 15, 2020. EDCO has released a notice that the Design and Construction Report (DCR) #2 for the Project has been prepared and will be available for a 30-day public review period between January 4 and February 3, 2021, in accordance with the approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ project under the MTO Class EA.
Cooksville Creek – QEW to Elaine Trail Construction Notice
This is to provide an update on Cooksville Creek Erosion Control program, which is to perform stream restoration and erosion protection work to the Cooksville Creek from South of QEW to Elaine Trail. Please see the Construction Notice above.
The successful bidder is R&M Construction who performed similar creek rehabilitation work at the City previously. The construction is scheduled to take place in January, 2021. We anticipate the project will take about 6 months.

I am very pleased to introduce and cut the ribbon for a water bottle filling station and a fillable water bowl for dogs in Westacres Park. This project was possible as the result of Federal Gas Tax funds to the City.
Thanks to the students at Westacres Public School in their leadership to reduce single use plastic water bottles, the Applewood Acres Homeowners Association’s help and collaboration, and a special thanks to City Staff and Ashley who was on hand today.
The water will be turned on in the early Spring.

Camera equipment on the roadway, boulevard and sidewalk has been permitted as long as two-way traffic is maintained at all times and to allow maximum 3-minute traffic stoppages on Proverbs Dr under the supervision of Peel Regional Police not between the hours of 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm.
It was exciting to be at the first day of the Lakeview Golf Course 2 km Winter Walking Trail. It is great for safe winter hikes or snowshoeing with your family! The trail is open daily from 10am-4pm, there’s free parking, washroom available and leashed dogs are welcome too.
I wanted to give a big thank you to the City’s Staff and Kristina and Jamie for working with me on this fun initiative.

SCHEDULED WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION
Dear Customer:
The Region of Peel Public Works department regularly maintains and repairs the water system to make sure you have a reliable supply of quality drinking water. Sometimes we must turn off your water supply while we do the work. In the next few days, we will be working in your area and will have to turn off your water for a few hours.
Your water will be turned off on Monday, January 11, 2021 from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, if the weather is bad or if a problem arises, we will reschedule the work and will let you know the new date and time.
When we turn the water back on, air in the pipes may make the water cloudy and your plumbing may vibrate or make noise. If this happens, you can remove the air by briefly turning on your taps from the lowest to the highest faucet in the building (that is, starting in the basement/first floor and finishing on the top floor). Flush the toilets as well.
You should only have to run the water for 10 to 30 seconds, but keep running it until the water is clear and any vibration or noise has stopped.
