The City of Mississauga is launching its annual Integrated Pest Management program to help reduce the number of gypsy moth caterpillars in Mississauga. This invasive insect causes tree destruction by feeding on the leaves of oak and other deciduous trees. After repeated defoliation, trees may die or become so weakened that they are vulnerable to secondary infestations. Read More

Attached please find a sign that we will be installing at Credit Village Marina near the Seabin to inform park users what the Seabin is and what benefits its providing to the lake. Today, the Government of Ontario extended the Stay-at-Home Order until at least June 2, 2021. The Stay-at-Home Order requires everyone to remain at home except for essential reasons, such as grocery shopping, going to the pharmacy, accessing health care services (including getting vaccinated), outdoor exercise or for work that cannot be done remotely. At today’s Regional Council meeting, Councillor Stephen Dasko put forward a motion, that was seconded by Caledon Councillor Ian Sinclair, that Council ask the Province to enact further amendments to the Highway Traffic Act to directly target loud and modified exhaust systems. Read More
The Region of Peel is offering in-home vaccine appointments for those who cannot physically leave their home to receive the vaccine. This could be due to medical, social, or other cognitive reasons.
Adults who require this type of appointment do not need to use the provincial booking system. They are required to fill out a form on the Region of Peel’s website. Once received, Peel Public Health will confirm your appointment time. Read More
Please note that the above will be filming interior scenes for a TV series “The Boys” at 1036 Lakeshore Rd E on May 13 and 14. Filming will include fire effects that have been approved by Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services.
Production has also been granted permission to park production vehicles from 12pm – 12am and have crew lunch from 1pm – 9pm at Small Arms Inspection Building (1352 Lakeshore Rd E, Ward 1) on May 13 and 14 each day.
