Halloween can be extra scary for children (and the parents of children) with food allergies!
“The Teal Pumpkin Project” is here in support of children with life-threatening food allergies
A teal pumpkin let’s allergic goblins know you have peanut/nut free and non-food treats like glow sticks, stickers and spider rings…
This is very important to 1/13 of our ‘trick or treaters’…both at school and when trick or treating in their neighbourhood…who must always be on ‘high alert’ for their safety.
Be sure to check local stores and online where products like these are sold.
We can also all make a difference by ‘shelling out’ on the driveway so children with mobility issues can easily ‘trick or treat’.
Be safe and have fun!
We need your input! You’re invited to a community meeting on November 2 about the City’s Asset Naming project
The names of our streets, community centres and parks help tell our City’s story. Naming these is an honour and should be taken seriously. That is why we are reviewing and gathering community feedback about our naming policies and processes; working to ensure we have an equitable, diverse and inclusive approach to naming in the future. You are invited to join us at a community meeting to voice your thoughts and provide feedback on the City’s guiding principles related to naming, place-making and commemoration.
What:
Community meeting where all are welcome to come and share their thoughts and feedback on the guiding principles, developed with research and in consultation with the community, for future naming, placemaking and commemoration.

All Mississauga community members interested in learning more about the City’s future approach to naming, placemaking and commemoration. Particularly those from South Asian, Black, Indigenous or other racialized communities.

Peel Region will be doing maintenance work in your area on Primate Road at Dixie Road.
Some upcoming work will take place overnight, to drain, repair, and modify an existing watermain in the chamber.
This overnight work will occur at the Primate Road and Dixie Road intersection. We apologize in advance for any
inconveniences caused by this work.
Schedule
The City of Mississauga, under the Noise Bylaw, is allowing work to be done by our contractor overnight. This
overnight work is expected to take place for multiple evenings, from Monday, October 23, 2023, to Friday,
October 27, 2023, from 7:00 pm. till 7:00 am. Additional nights may be required due to unpredictable delays, such
as poor weather conditions.
Traffic impacts
Primate Road will be reduced to a single shared lane just west of Dixie Road. Where a single lane is shared with
oncoming traffic, please be sure to yield to oncoming traffic as stated by the road signs. These lanes will be
reopened from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
Noise
We do not anticipate significant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels during these
operations. Efforts will be made to reduce impacts to residents as much as possible.
Safety during construction
Construction zones require extra caution to keep everyone safe – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and construction
workers. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, please be aware of your surroundings,
watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if
possible. To learn more about how to stay safe in construction zones, visit peelregion.ca/workzonesafety.
Thank you for your patience as we complete this necessary work. This work will allow us to continue providing
you with high quality tap water. If you have any questions, please contact us.

The Region of Peel Public Works department regularly maintains and repairs the water system to make sure you have a consistent supply of quality drinking water. Sometimes we must turn off your water supply while we do this work.
Your water will be turned off on from Thursday, October 12th, 11:00 pm to Friday, October 13th, 5:00 am. If we need to reschedule this work due to weather or other circumstances, we will let you know the new date and time.
If this interruption may affect an alarm or maintenance company, it is your responsibility to notify them. During the time that the water supply is interrupted, the building’s sprinkler protection system will not function. A fire watch should be performed as necessary during time period.
After the water interruption:
When we turn the water back on, air in the pipes may make the water cloudy and your plumbing may vibrate or make noise. We recommend removing the air by slowly turning on your taps from the lowest to the highest faucet in the building (that is, starting in the basement/first floor and finishing on the top floor). Flush the toilets as well. You will likely need to run the water for 10 to 30 seconds. Run the water until it is clear, and any vibration or noise has stopped.
Important note: After the water is turned back on, we recommend checking your water meter (usually located in the basement). If it is leaking, call Water Meter Installations Dispatch at:
- (905) 791 – 7800 Ext. 3226 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Monday to Friday)
- (905) 791 – 7800 Ext. 4409 (After hours or Statutory Holidays)
