The Region of Peel Public Works department regularly maintains and repairs the water system to make sure you have a consistent supply of quality drinking water. Sometimes we must turn off your water supply while we do this work.

Your water will be turned off on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If we need to reschedule this work due to weather or other circumstances, we will let you know the new date and time.

If this interruption may affect an alarm or maintenance company, it is your responsibility to notify them.  During the time that the water supply is interrupted, the building’s sprinkler protection system will not function.  A fire watch should be performed as necessary during time.

After the water interruption:

When we turn the water back on, air in the pipes may make the water cloudy and your plumbing may vibrate or make noise.  We recommend removing the air by slowly turning on your taps from the lowest to the highest faucet in the building (that is, starting in the basement/first floor and finishing on the top floor). Flush the toilets as well. You will likely need to run the water for 10 to 30 seconds.  Run the water until it is clear, and any vibration or noise has stopped.

Important note:  After the water is turned back on, we recommend checking your water meter (usually located in the basement).  If it is leaking, call Water Meter Installations Dispatch at:

  • (905) 791 – 7800 Ext. 3226 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Monday to Friday)
  • (905) 791 – 7800 Ext. 4409 (After hours or Statutory Holidays)

MTO Advises Significant Delay for Construction of Ogden Pedestrian Bridge

By Announcement, Issues, Resources, Ward 1

Received August 31, 2023 from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Update on opening date received November 23, 2023.

The Ogden Pedestrian Bridge was initially scheduled for completion by the end of August 2023/start of the fall school year. Due to numerous underground and aboveground utility conflicts, the opening of the pedestrian bridge is delayed, with an opening date in late summer 2024 now projected.

At this time, the contractor has progressed with the subsurface concrete and pier column works, and expects to have the entire substructure complete within three weeks. The steel truss sections are currently in fabrication and are projected to be installed in early October 2023.  The concrete deck on the truss and associated concrete approach ramps will follow thereafter.

The school boards were advised on June 21st, 2023 with respect to a delay in the re-opening of the Ogden Bridge to late November 2023 (from late August 2023) and were advised earlier this week of the new projected opening date. A bussing service, provided by the school boards for the affected students, similar to what was implemented from March 20th to June 30th this year, was to be reimplemented starting in September and will now extended from the previously noted November completion date to the newly revised late summer 2024 completion date and this bussing service will be updated/revised as construction of the Ogden Pedestrian Bridge progresses.”

GO Bus Route 21/27 (Milton) Service Adjustments

By Resources

Several times a year Metrolinx reviews and adjusts schedules network-wide to ensure GO Transit and UP Express services align with customer needs, while allocating resources to where they are needed most.

In response to ridership needs, starting September 2, 2023, two new weekday early morning eastbound trips on Route 21 will operate between Milton and Union Station Bus Terminal, with arrivals at Union set for 6:00 am and 6:30 am. This is in addition to an existing trip that arrives at 5:20 am.

Also starting September 2, GO Transit will extend all GO Bus Route 27 trips to originate/terminate at Milton GO instead of Meadowvale GO. This enhancement offers Milton customers two-way off-peak and weekend GO Bus service between Milton and both sides of TTC’s Line 1 at Yorkdale and Finch stations. Additionally, this enables off-peak and weekend travel between Milton and Meadowvale.

In response to low ridership on GO Bus Route 21, service frequency on this route will be adjusted, starting September 2, 2023, as follows:

  • The number of daily trips between Milton and Finch Station will increase from 18 trips/day to 50 trips/day.
  • On weekdays, most 21A trips between Oakville and Milton will now run hourly instead of every 30 minutes.
  • On weekday evenings, 21B trips between Clarkson and Lisgar GO will run hourly instead of every 30 minutes. On weekends, service will also run hourly instead of every 30 minutes.
  • Most 21C trips between Port Credit and Erindale GO on weekdays and weekends will run hourly instead of every 30 minutes.
  • New weekend service offering, 36 trips/weekend day will operate between Milton and Finch Station – hourly two-way service.

Any changes to schedules that require riders to make alternate arrangements are made with special consideration, and we appreciate that recent changes to Bus Route21 have been frustrating for some commuters in your city/community/riding.

Customers are encouraged to visit Triplinx.ca to plan their trip and understand their travel options.

Milton Transit also offers on-demand transit options, with information available on their website.
