City staff will host a series of events for residents, including tree-plantings, educational webinars and tree giveaways to celebrate National Forest Week on September 19 to 25, 2021. Events will raise awareness about the importance of forests and trees in urban spaces while formally kicking off the fall planting season and advancing the goals of the Climate Change Action Plan. This September 11 marks 20 years since the devastating tragedy at the World Trade Center that took thousands of lives including those of fire, police and paramedic first responders. To mark the 20th anniversary of this tragedy, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services alongside local partners and dignitaries will host an observance ceremony at Mississauga Celebration Square.
