Continuous Weekend Work on the Lakeshore West Rail Corridor at Port Credit GO Station – Starting at 7 p.m. on Friday October 27th to 6 a.m. on Monday October 30th

By Hurontario LRT, Ward 1

What work is taking place? With the Lakeshore West underpass structure (LSW Push Box) in place, construction crews will resume overnight activities within the railway corridor at Port Credit GO Station near Hurontario Street for the removal of the Verona System. The Verona system is a temporary modular bridge that allowed for train movements to continue while the LSW Push Box was moved into place underneath the tracks. These activities are expected to take place continuously over the course of the weekend from 7 p.m. on Friday October 27 to 6 a.m. on Monday October 30th. It will allow for crews to carefully remove the traverse beams and modules that currently support train traffic on all three railway tracks. As the beams and modules are removed, crews will reinstate the tracks, one at a time, by backfilling and compacting the railway corridor with granular materials and track ballast to support future train traffic above the underpass.

To complete the work safely and efficiently, crews will be working continuously throughout the weekend and overnight when train movements are at a minimum.

We understand that we are building this transformational transit project in a residential area and that overnight work is not ideal. We appreciate your patience and will complete this work as efficiently as possible to get things back to normal for you. We have a dedicated community relations team in place to work with residents and businesses in Peel Region through the construction and operation of this transformational project.

Please note, work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If you require the most up-to-date information, please reach out to peel@metrolinx.com.
