The City of Mississauga is pleased to announce that Clarkson, Cooksville, Malton, Port Credit, Streetsville and the Downtown Core will be participating in the Government of Canada’s My Main Street Local Business Accelerator program to help revitalize the main streets of these communities. The City of Mississauga will receive a total of $230,000 in a non-repayable contribution to deliver the My Main Street program in Mississauga. Read More

The Region of Peel will be starting emergency watermain repairs on Monday, April 25 on Dixie Road north of Bloor Street. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dixie Road will be reduced to a single lane north and southbound. At all other times north and southbound Dixie Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction.
As a major north-south arterial road in Mississauga, the lane reductions will increase travel times. Motorists may wish to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
The repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, June 24. Average construction noise is expected. There will be no impact to drinking water for the community. Follow @peelpublicworks for information and updates.

The Lakeshore Transportation Studies include three infrastructure projects in the Lakeview, Port Credit and Clarkson communities that build from the 2019 Lakeshore Connecting Communities Transportation Master Plan. Each project requires a specific type of environmental review.
The City is developing the preliminary design and completing the Schedule B Class EA for a new Active Transportation bridge over the Credit River north of Lakeshore Road. This bridge will enhance mobility across the river for people walking, rolling and cycling.

Mark your calendars for the return of the plant sale after a two year absence! We will be set up in the parking lot between the community centre and the Cawthra Seniors Centre with lots of parking available. The sale will run rain or shine!
We plan to have plants such as ferns, rudbeckia, heuchera, sedum, echinacea, bleeding hearts, ornamental grasses and sedges plus named hostas and tomatoes. Our members donate all the plant material from their gardens so all grow well in the area.

Today, the Region of Peel launched an online survey for the public to provide input into the development of a potential Vacant Home Tax program in Peel to increase affordable housing supply.
Residents in Peel are encouraged to participate to help the Region make informed decisions related to the design of a Vacant Home Tax program. The survey will be open from April 13 to May 16. There are also two virtual public consultation sessions taking place. They are scheduled for Tuesday, April 26 and Tuesday, May 3. National Work Zone Awareness Week starts today through April 15 and highlights the importance of slowing down when driving through work zones to prevent injuries and collisions. Reducing vehicle speed can avoid collisions from happening, or can reduce the impact by giving people more time to react and stop.
As road maintenance and construction season is now underway across Peel, all road users should exercise extra caution when travelling through work zones to help protect on-site workers and keep everyone safe.
