Temporary Overnight Road Closure of Hurontario Street Between Mineola Road and Inglewood Drive
10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Monday, August 9th to Friday, August 13th, 2021

What work is taking place? To accommodate construction of the Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project, watermain and sewer infrastructure installation works are underway on Hurontario Street between Park Street and Mineola Road.
This work will require a temporary overnight closure of Hurontario Street between Mineola Road and Inglewood Drive from Monday August 9 to Friday August 13 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Work is being done overnight in order to safely install utility services that cross Hurontario Street, while making the least impact to traffic flow. The road will be re-opened each day at 6 a.m. with steel plates safely covering the excavated areas.
Road closure and detour signs will be posted to keep residents and businesses informed of this closure. Local access to businesses/properties, Transit Service (MiWay and GO Transit) and Emergency Services providers will have access maintained throughout the closure.

The Region of Peel is hosting a “Transportation Weekend” vaccine clinic on July 17 and July 18 to provide first and second dose vaccines to those that work in the transportation sector. This includes truck drivers, taxi and bus drivers, as well as couriers and those that work for rideshare companies as well as other company employees.
The clinic is being held at the International Centre and will operate from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. on both days. The location was chosen due to its proximity to Highway 401 and its ability to allow truck drivers to park their vehicles. Read More

I am very excited to announce that disc golf is coming to Ward 1. It is a first for Mississauga. I have been working hard with staff on my initiative for several months and it will finally be a reality with its installation in the very near future.
New disc golf courses are being installed at Dellwood Park and Spruce Park in our Ward. The courses are designed for beginners and can be played physically distanced. The courses are open for anyone interested in trying out a game.
Disc golf is a sport where players throw a disc from a tee off area into a metal basket mounted in the ground. The object of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest number of throws. It has similar rules to golf.
Construction on the disc golf courses will begin this summer.
Please check out Mississauga.ca/disc-golf-2021 for all the exciting details on the disc golf courses.
