MiWay’s 2025 Report to the Community

By Transit

At the March 3 Transit Advisory Committee meeting, MiWay presented the 2025 Report to the Community.

The report answers the fundamental question: How did we make transit better for our community in 2025?

MiWay’s work in 2025 marked a significant shift from vision‑setting to practical, meaningful action. Throughout the year, MiWay strengthened day‑to‑day service, responded directly to community feedback, and enhanced both customer and employee experiences. These efforts delivered tangible results, including a 54% reduction in overcrowding on the busiest routes, upgrades to 155 landing pads, the installation of 70 new shelters, and achieving 99.4% accessibility across all bus stops. It brings to light the challenges we continue to have with capacity and customer satisfaction with reliability and communication.

MiWay is introducing significant service improvements along Dundas Street to better align with customer demand and evolving ridership patterns on one of Mississauga’s busiest transit corridors.

February 13, 2026

Starting Monday, February 23, MiWay is implementing major changes to service along Dundas Street, affecting connections at Kipling Bus Terminal, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) and South Common Centre. Schedules will be adjusted to increase frequency on all routes serving Dundas Street. These enhancements and realignments will improve travel options and strengthen connections to surrounding communities, including Meadowvale, Erin Mills and UTM.

Simplified and more frequent service along Dundas Street

To simplify the network and provide more consistent service, routes operating on Dundas Street will be revised.

  • Route 1 Dundas: Will operate between Kipling Bus Terminal to Laird Road and Ridgeway Drive via UTM. Service frequency will increase during core weekday and weekend hours.
  • Route 101 Dundas Express: Will operate between Kipling Bus Terminal and Laird Road and Ridgeway Drive via UTM. Service frequency will increase during core weekday hours and on Saturdays.
  • Service to South Common Centre: Service via Route 1C Dundas and Route 101 Dundas Express will be discontinued. Customers traveling to South Common Centre can transfer at UTM to either Route 110/110A University Express or the newly extended Route 48 Erin Mills, which will also serve UTM.

Upcoming GO Transit Weekend Service Impacts – Lakeshore West Line

By Transit

Sharing information regarding upcoming weekend service impacts on the Lakeshore West line.

On the weekends of Jan. 17 – 18 and 24 – 25, planned construction is taking place on Lakeshore West for future, frequent service and to replace the Etobicoke Creek bridge. This work is critical to maintaining safe and reliable service.

Train service is running between Niagara Falls and Oakville GO. GO buses replace trains and will run between Oakville and Clarkson GO, then direct to Union Station Bus Terminal.

There will be no GO Transit service at Port Credit, Long Branch or west from Mimico GO. Special trains will run, on an hourly schedule, between Mimico GO and Union Station. More information about travel options and alternatives can be found on our website.

As improvements continue across the GO Transit network, including GO Expansion work and ongoing maintenance and upgrade activities, service adjustments may occur along the Lakeshore West line over the coming months. Please advise customers to check the GO Transit website, which outlines upcoming service changes and provides information to support travel planning.
